Vorbid is a progressive thrash metal band from southern city of Norway, Arendal, consisting of Michael Eriksen Briggs, Daniel Emanuelsen, Marcus Gullovsen and Jonas Tellefsen. The band was formed in October 2013 and has since it's inception developed quite a unique style of thrash metal. They mix the riffs and the intensity of thrash with the technique and the melodies from prog rock.
The band comments on the singing with Indie Recordings: "We are extremely proud to be signed with Indie Recordings! We are looking forward to our mutual efforts for the world domination", and the front figure of Indie Recordings, Erlend Gjerde, continues: "We`re thrilled to welcome these young and extremely talented musicians to Indie Recordings. Their progressive take on thrash-metal breathe some fresh air into the genre, that is more than welcome. Let`s GO!"
Vorbid has won several competitions like GBOB Norway (reaching 4th place in the Global Battle of the Bands World Final in May 2016), Massive Destruction, Rytmisk Fabrikk's talent contest, Wacken Metal Battle and Bloodstock’s Metal 2 the Masses. In August 2016 they released their self-titled EP to critical acclaim. Norskmetal.net gave it 5/6 and heavymetal.no gave it a fantastic 9.5 / 10!

BIOGRAPHY
Vorbid is a Thrash Metal band from Arendal and was established in October 2013 under the name Purgatory by Michael Eriksen (guitar / vocals), Sondre Stokke (bass) and Niklas Mæle Gjeisklid (guitar) and after a short time Marcus Gullovsen became the drummer for the band. The name was changed quickly to Morbid Visions, but due to uncreativity, they changed it to Vorbid.
After their debut concert and one UKM performance, Niklas was fired from the band due to lack of skills, but was quickly replaced by Daniel Emanuelsen (Lead Guitar) in March 2014. In August 2014, it went slowly for the band, and Sondre had other interests than music and decided to no longer work with Vorbid.
In 2015, Vorbid got all the way to the national final of UKM, won Rytmisk Fabrikks talent competition, and in August that year, Johannes Torp joined the band as bassist, but was no longer a member in January of 2016.
