How should a thrash metal band from the 2000s make a comeback? This is how! Where Victims Lie released two promo CDs back in 2003 and 2007, before going on a long hiatus. Now they're finally back with a five-track EP called "What Was Left Behind" - an assault of sheer thrash metal revival! Rooted in the 80s, influenced by the 00s, but crafted with passion in the 20s.

"I always felt there was some unfinished business with this band. We got back together a few years ago and quickly realized that we all still had the same fire burning!" says guitarist Jarkko Petosalmi.
"We wanted to make absolutely sure that we came back stronger before, and we definitely succeeded! We also haven't slowed down one bit, quite the opposite actually." comments drummer Timo Häkkinen.

Where Victims Lie is a Finnish thrash metal band formed in 2000 in Jyväskylä, Finland.
Blending aggressive riffing with a modern edge, the band draws inspiration from classic thrash acts while incorporating contemporary intensity and atmosphere into their sound.
During their early years, Where Victims Lie released a series of promo recordings, including demos in 2003 and 2007, which helped establish them in the Finnish underground scene. Their music is often centered around dark and violent themes, including murder and serial killer concepts.
Despite gaining momentum, the band experienced several interruptions in activity. They went on hiatus between 2003 and 2006, later continuing until eventually disbanding around 2010 as members focused on other projects.
After more than a decade of silence, Where Victims Lie reunited in 2026, marking a new chapter for the band. Their comeback includes new material such as the EP “What Was Left Behind”, showcasing a revitalized yet faithful thrash sound rooted in both 1980s influences and modern production.
Today, the band remains active, continuing to build on their legacy within the Finnish thrash metal underground.
