Traditional heavy metal band Wishing Well from Finland has released a new video off their brand new Playing With Fire album, released in March. This time visual extra boost was given to album’s fastest track, Train Of Thoughts, by animated video.
The video was illustrated and animated by Natalia Śmiechowicz, who has made videos for Uriah Heep, Dokken and Motörhead to name but a few. Her inimitable style works very well for music videos, bringing remarkable added value to music.
Watch the music video:
The video shows the band riding on top of a train through northern lights of Lapland and endless deserts and wastelands, going all the way up to space. Along the ride the old steam locomotive turns into bullet train as the band flies higher and higher, dodging UFOs and killer sharks, finally disappearing into the sun.
“Train is the fastest song we’ve ever done and we’re happy with the way it came out, so we decided we need to support the song with a video that makes people listen to it. We contacted Natalia and she came up with exactly what we were looking for”, says Anssi Korkiakoski, the guitar player of Wishing Well. “It was great fun writing the video because with animation there are no limits whatsoever and Natalia really took us for a great ride in the world of fantasy”, he continued.
This year Wishing Well celebrates their tenth anniversary in the land of rock and roll. Their first album Chasing Rainbows was released in 2016 and since then the band has been constantly active, releasing five well received albums, playing clubs and festivals and touring with bands like Graham Bonnet and Girlschool.
The band celebrated their anniversary by playing an anniversary gig at Bar Loose in Helsinki, on the 24th of April. Check some pictures from the gig from here. (Live photos by Sari Kossu Koskinen)
In May Wishing Well will play live in Nirvana, Turku and Maxim, Kuopio in Finland. More shows will be confirmed soon on their social media channels.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Wishing Well is a Finnish heavy metal / hard rock band from Helsinki, founded by guitarist and main songwriter Anssi Korkiakoski. Originally conceived as a solo project, it quickly evolved into a full band centered around a classic, melody-driven approach to heavy music.
Musically, Wishing Well blends traditional heavy metal, hard rock, and touches of power metal, drawing clear inspiration from 1970s and 1980s acts such as Deep Purple and Rainbow. A defining element of their sound is the prominent use of Hammond organ alongside twin guitar harmonies, strong hooks, and powerful vocals.
The band released its debut album Chasing Rainbows in 2016, followed by Rat Race (2018) and Do or Die (2020), establishing a consistent and recognizable style. Their later releases, Sin and Shame (2023) and Playing With Fire (2026), further expanded their sound while maintaining their classic heavy rock foundation.
Throughout their career, Wishing Well has balanced energetic, riff-driven tracks with more melodic and atmospheric material, always rooted in a traditional metal aesthetic. The lineup has featured musicians such as vocalist Pepe Tamminen, keyboardist Arto Teppo, bassist Matti Kotkavuori, and drummer Juha Kivikanto, with Korkiakoski remaining the creative driving force behind the band.
