Terramater is a progressive rock band based in Meløy in the northern part of Norway and after years in making their debut album is now finally available to the masses. ‘Protheus’ is quite an ambitious project with its lyrical concept dealing with all the challenges related to life on earth. The music is heavily inspired by the great names of the 70’s and early 80’s prog rock scene, such...

Two years have passed since Polish death metallers Hate released their eminent 'Solarflesh' album, but finally the highly antisipated successor is here. I do consider Hate as a death metal band, but to be fair there's a good protion of black metal in their style as well with symphonic keyboards created atmosphere and thundering blast beats. The music is both brutal and technical, but yet very atmospheric and melodic...

American prog metal veterans Dream Theater are finally back with their long awaited rock opera entitled The Astonishing, a massive 2 hours plus opus that for sure will be subject to discussion among their fans. I suspect it will split their fanbase as well, where those preffering the heavier side of the band might be disappointed while fans of their more epic and atmospheric side probably will appreciate The...

The name Fleshkiller may not immediately ring a bell, but if i say that this is the new band of Extol guitarist and mastermind Ole Børud it should give you a fair idea of what this is all about. Alongside Børud Fleshkiller consists of Elisha Mullins (The Burial) on vocals and guitar, Ole Vistnes (Shining, Tristania) on bass and Andreas Skorpe Sjøen (Umpfel) on drums. 'Awaken' is a modern...

First of all this is not a new album, not even close, and we’re not talking a re-issue either but an album originally released back in 1983. These Bochum based Germans came together as a band in 1978, and managed to release two full length albums before they split-up sometimes during the eighties. ‘No Mercy’ didn’t receive too much attention around its release and I just accidently got aware...

The idea of what was later to become Images At Twilight was born in the late nineties by founder Andre Aaslie, but it was not until 2010 he felt the software technology was good enough to create the symphonic and orchestral aspect he was seeking without having to use a real orchestra in the studio. Since then he has gathered band members from several renowned Norwegian extreme metal acts...

Her...

Tad Morose must be among the most underrated power metal bands around today, despite the fact that they have delivered several strong albums throughout their career they have never really received the attention they deserve. Since the beginning in 1991 numerous members have passed through the ranks of Tad Morose and that is once again the case in front of the release of ‘Revenant’. New members on this album...
