OUTER HEAVEN Realms Of Eternal Decay

Pennsylvania based death metal act Outer Heaven makes their first mark upon the earth with´Realms Of Eternal Decay´, and I like what I hear from this very solid debut. There´s nothing revolutionary about Outer Heaven to be honest, but what they do offer is a little more than thirty minutes of honest, pure quality death metal. It´s old school inspired, it´s nasty and uptempo but yet catchy and groovy with a slight taste of finesse that keeps the listener on his toes throughout the album. The deep growling vocals suits the music very well, but in my opinion it could have been brought sligthly more upfront in the mix. Otherwise I find the guitarwork on this album really tasty with a fine mix of up-tempo and groovy riffs with some real nice harmonies added. All in all an exellent debut from a band that I´m sure we will hear more of in the near future.
