Prepare yourself for a grandiose opening as the nearly thirteen minutes long 'An Ordinary Dream (Enla Momento) kicks of the new album from Australian melodic prog metallers Teramaze. This track alone is worth the money you spend on this album. I actually don't know too much about this band even though they have released four full length albums previous to this one since the start in 1995. I've been listening briefly through their 2014 album 'Esoteric Symbolism' album and to those who are familiar with that album I can safely say that 'Her Halo' sounds like a natrual step forvard from that one. On 'Her Halo' Teramaze takes their progressive metal in an even more melodic direction, and the first thing that came to my mind was that it reminded me a lot of Circus Maximus....and that's a compliment. The music is complex and progressive enough to appeal to prog metal fanatics, yet melodic enough for a potentially commercial succsess. The song material is very strong with 'Another Ordinary Dream' and the title track as my immediate favorites, but there are actually no weak songs here and this is the kind of album that you get the most out of by listening to it in it's entirety. I must also add that the band has been subject to several line up changes the past two years which among others introduces the talents og new singer Nathan Peachey who does an excellent job. Enough said, if you like your progressive metal served in a melodic and epic package, then 'Her Halo' is a safe bet.
