With a career spanning more than 30 years and 13 full‑length albums behind them, My Dying Bride hardly needs an introduction. With the exception of Evinta, the British doom legends have consistently delivered quality, sometimes producing outright classics, other times more modest but still solid releases. Since their last album, the band has undergone a few lineup changes, bringing in former Paradise Lost drummer Jeff Singer and new second...

Swedish doom legends Candlemass returns with their first studio album in seven years, and it also marks the return of singer Johan Längquist to the line-up. As most of you probably already know Längquist was the man behind the microphone on their legendary 1986 album 'Epicus Doomicus Metallicus', and in my opinion 'The Door To Doom' may very well be their best album since that memorable debut.  Leif Edling...

Chicago based doom/death metal veterans are back with the 10th studio album of their carreer, and as always my expectations are quite high since we're talking about a band that very rarely disappoint their fans. We could hear a slight change of direction on their 2014 album 'Bled White' and it's even more obvious this time around. It still sounds unmistakable Novembers Doom, but where the earlier albums were...

In 1997 Memnock (Susperia) founded Abyssic Dreams and recorded a two song demo, but not much happened after that since Susperia was founded and became the main focus for Memnoc. Fifteen years later he decided to bring the project back to life after a coincidentally meeting with Andre Aaslie who had just finished recording the debut album of Gromth. The two decided to exchange ideas for a doom metal...

Ok, where in heavens name shall I start here? In these days where the album format is being questioned by many, and where it’s more and more common to release single tracks electronically, Swallow The Sun decides to release a full triple-album containing more than 2,5 hours of new material. That’s indeed a brave thing to do. But to sum it all up I would like to quote guitarist...

Swedish death/doom metallers makes their return to the limelight with their sixth studio album entitled 'Sovran', once again they have remained faithful to their style and there's nothing wrong about that. Instedad of trying to redefine the genre these guys focus on writing good songs within the framework that once earned them success, and in that respect I would say that they have succeeded once again. The material is...

I can´t remember having heard the debut album of Swiss band THIS MISERY GARDEN, so this is actually my first meeting with their music. After a creative break the guys are now back with the follow up to their 2009 debut ´Another Great Day On Earth´. ´Cornerstone´ was recorded in Downtone Studio, Geneva by Drop, while Jens Bogren has been responsible for the mastering. THIS MISERY GARDEN´s music is...

’A Rose...
