DIAMOND DAWN is a new band consisting of young musicians from Gothenburg, Sweden, but their music is by no means typical for that region of Scandinavia. DIAMOND DAWN is all about melodic rock, or AOR if you like, with pompous and melodic, but yet hard rocking songs. ´Overdrive´is surrounded by a positive and fresh atmosphere which is something you hardly everr hear these days. These guys doesn´t bring anything...
Execrine is a French technical death metal band, founded in 2013 in Bordeaux. 'Ascension' is their second full-length album, but unfortunately I haven't had a chance checking out their debut yet. According to the band themselves inspiration has been gained from great names within the genre, such as Obscura, Necrophagist and Beyond Creation.....which litterally spoken sounds like music to my ears. Execrine has managed to come up with a...
The multinational melodic metal act Eden’s Curse is back with their fourth studio album, introducing the new line-up featuring newcomers Nikola Mijic on vocals and former Dragonforce and Powerquest keyboarder Steve Williams alongside the three founding members Paul Logue, Thorsten Koehne and Pete Newdeck. Musically Eden’s Curse is still operating in the landscape between melodic hard rock and metal, focusing on strong and catchy melodies wrapped into a powerful...
I must admit that Carcass didn’t figure frequently in my playlist in the early stages of their career even though I’m perfectly aware that these guys have been among the most genre defining acts within the extreme metal scene. Arctic Metal’s webmaster Harry Edvardsen on the other hand has been a huge fan of Carcass for years, and he has been going through many wet dreams in anticipation for...
Meadow’s End is a six piece band heading from Sweden and now they are back with the successor to their debut album from 2010 ‘Ode to quietus’ and what a masterpiece these guys have created. ‘The Sufferwell’ is the most innovative, and probably also the best album I’ve heard within this genre in a very, very long time. The genre I’m referring to is melodic death metal, but Meadow’s...
Dubai based technical death metal outfit Nervecell are back with their thrid studio album entitled 'Past, Present...Torture' to follow up their 2011 album 'Psychogenocide'. I really enjoyed both previous albums, and in particular the excellent debut 'Preaching Venom', so I've really anticipated this new one. The receipe is more or less the same as before technical, but yet in-your-face death metal that is both brutal and melodic with potential...
